Using risograph printing, this project explores the feeling of déjà vu through a series of altered realities. Beginning with street photography at Venice Beach, the work captures strangers passing by. The photographs were then digitally edited and printed using riso, allowing imperfections, overlapping layers, and unexpected variations to become part of the process. The repeated prints introduce accidents and unpredictability, reflecting the strange feeling of déjà vu. Scanned and reassembled into a looping GIF, the images shift between analog and digital, still and moving, day and night, real and imagined. Déjà Vu reflects on the passing of time, fleeting encounters with strangers, and the fragility of perception.
